A 19-year-old Whitefield woman who went missing last week is still unaccounted for at press time.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Britney Binns, 19, of Townhouse Road. Binns was reported missing by her family on Thurs., Oct. 8.
She was last seen Oct. 7, at approximately 10 p.m. when she went to bed.
Thursday morning the family awoke to find Binns missing along with a few of her belongings and her bicycle. She left a note simply stating she was “running away” and did not give any reasons for her leaving.
The family states Binns gave no indications she was planning anything and remains very concerned for her safety and well-being.
At this point there does not appear to be any indication of foul play according to LCSO detectives. Binns is an adult and is it legal for her to be missing, however, law enforcement would like to contact her to confirm her well-being.
Binns is described as a 19-year-old, white female, 6′ tall, 135 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. She is believed to be riding her black Black River Canyon FS Elite mountain bike. She is possibly wearing brown Sketcher shoes, blue jeans and a blue and white windbreaker.
