Brackett presented owner Louis Doe with the outstanding community service award at the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office’s annual awards banquet April 4.
“Your business has demonstrated a willingness to contribute not only physical resources, but more importantly, the human component of caring that truly reflects your commitment to our community,” Brackett said.
Brackett announced that the award would be renamed the Judy Doe Memorial Community Service Award in honor of Louis Doe’s wife, Judy Doe, who passed away Nov. 3, 2013. Louis and Judy Doe founded Louis Doe Home Center in 1970.
Brackett and his command staff host the dinner and awards ceremony every year to honor staff, as well as community members and service organizations that support the mission of the sheriff’s office.
The April 4 event took place at the Lincoln Academy dining commons in Newcastle.
