A Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputy has been placed on leave and is under investigation by the Maine Attorney General.
“I can confirm there is an investigation. I can not comment on it,” said Kate Simmons, the attorney general’s spokeswoman.
Sheriff Todd Brackett said in a written statement that Deputy Henry Grenier has been placed on administrative leave with pay for a “non-work related” incident currently being investigated by the Maine State Police.
Brackett took that action approximately two weeks ago, pending the outcome of the state’s probe.
Following the investigation, Brackett said he will determine whether an internal investigation is required.
A woman who answered the phone at Grenier’s home said he (Grenier) would not comment on the matter.
