A 21-year-old Bristol woman and her 4-year-old daughter sustained minor facial injuries in a single-vehicle accident on South Clary Road (Route 215) in Jefferson the morning of Friday, June 23.
Kelsey Walker, 21, of Bristol, was driving a Chevrolet sedan south on Route 215 at the time of the accident, according to Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Mark Bridgham. The car went onto the soft shoulder and Walker overcorrected and lost control of the car.
The vehicle skidded across Route 215 and across a grass lawn on the opposite side of the road before coming to rest facing north against a stand of trees, according to Bridgham.
Bridgham described the injuries as lacerations, the result of broken glass from the car’s windshield.
Bridgham said both occupants were wearing their seat belts, the vehicle’s airbags deployed, and the car was totaled.
Lincoln County Communications dispatched emergency services shortly before 9:15 a.m. The Central Lincoln County Ambulance Service, Jefferson Fire and Rescue, and the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.
