(Updated at 6:25 a.m. on Wednesday) Steady snowfall overspread Lincoln County beginning in the wee hours of Wednesday and was expected to affect the morning commute with several inches of heavy, wet snow accumulation, according to forecasters. The snow is forecast to continue into the morning hours of Wednesday, then taper off, according to the National Weather Service. The event is predicted to leave only 2 to 4 inches of total accumulation, according to the NWS.
On Tuesday evening, the forecast for wind velocities increased to 10 to 15 mph out of the northeast, with gusts to 25 mph. Combined with the wet, heavy snowfall, these conditions could be right for some power outages, according to a winter weather advisory issued by the NWS. However, there were no outages reported at the time of this updated posting.
The winter weather advisory issued by the NWS remains in effect until noon on Wednesday, at the time of this posting.
