It remains to be seen how many Lincoln County families will be without electrical power on Thanksgiving Day.
In the early morning hours of Thanksgiving, a total of 9505 Lincoln County outages were reported by Central Maine Power. At the time of this posting, CMP had no estimate on how many of those customers will have power restored for Thanksgiving Day.
CMP and power line crews brought in from around the region will be busy, with over 76,000 outages in their state-wide service area, according to the 10:58 p.m. CMP report on Wednesday. Areas south and west of Lincoln County were hardest hit, with over 59,000 outages in Cumberland, York, and Franklin counties.
Area fire departments and law enforcement agencies were kept busy throughout the day with traffic incidents and other storm related calls.
Total snowfall accumulation of 8 to 12 inches has now been forecast for this event, and a Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 7 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning.
The Lincoln County News website will continue to follow the progress of this event and will post any additional information here as soon as it is obtained.
