Somerville officials are waiting to hear from the owners of more than a dozen properties with unpaid 2010 taxes. Town Treasurer and Tax Collect Gerry Kimball said she sent 15 foreclosure notices out in early November and, as of the Board of Selectmen’s Nov. 20 meeting, had only received two responses.
Property owners have until Dec. 5 to contact the town before their properties are automatically acquired by the town.
A verified mapping survey of the town is more than 50-percent complete, Kimball said. She said a full set of detailed maps will be available online sometime early next year.
Selectmen have appointed a committee to update Somerville’s comprehensive plan. The committee includes the three selectmen, Code Enforcement Officer Bob Temple and townspeople Peggy Dostie, Jim Grenier Sr., Roy Miller and Polly Powers, and will begin meeting in early December.
