Somerville’s new code enforcement officer and plumbing inspector, Bob Temple, was sworn in during the Board of Selectmen’s July 3 meeting, as part of an agenda that included several official appointments.
Temple is a resident of Palermo, and serves in the same capacity for the municipalities of Washington, Morrill, Montville, Waldo, and Belmont. In addition to the responsibilities as code enforcement officer and plumbing inspector, he will assist Somerville in reviewing and updating the town ordinances, Chairman of the Board of Selectmen Susan Greer said. Temple is certified by the state of Maine in code enforcement and is a licensed plumbing inspector.
At the same meeting, Michael Dostie was appointed as Municipal Fire Chief for the Somerville Volunteer Fire Department. Both Dostie and Temple were sworn in by Town Clerk Ernestine Peaslee.
Diane Steward has accepted the position of Addressing Officer and Delta Chase has accepted the position of General Assistance Officer. The two Somerville women were scheduled to be sworn during the second week of July.
