The Dept. of Transportation wants everyone, including seasonal residents in every corner of the country, to be able to participate in a March 22 meeting about the South Bristol swing bridge project.
“Since many of you are not present at this time of year, we are going to try to reach as many people as possible with some new broadcast technology,” Bodge wrote in a Feb. 24 mass e-mail. “You will have the opportunity to listen, see and even participate in the meeting from any location.”
South Bristol has a large population of seasonal residents, many of whom have participated in previous public meetings about the project.
The department will provide “an update on the Gut Bridge project” at the meeting, Bodge wrote.
The meeting is scheduled for Thurs., March 22 at 6 p.m. at the South Bristol town office.
“We also plan to conduct a public meeting in July or August for those that can’t be a part of this update meeting,” Bodge wrote.
The March meeting will be the first since the DOT announced its decision to push the bridge project schedule back by about a year Jan. 30.
The department will use Adobe Connect Web conferencing technology to facilitate the long-distance interactivity.
