Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a 20-year-old male for furnishing a place for minors to consume alcohol the night of Sept. 20, when Loren St. Cyr, 20, of Jefferson was killed on N. Clary Road.
The arrest comes as a result of the ongoing investigation of the hit-and-run accident that cost St. Cyr his life.
LCSO Deputies arrested Thomas C. Nolet, 20, of Gloucester, Mass., on Jan. 25 for furnishing a place for minors to consume alcohol reportedly on the night of the accident. Nolet lived in Jefferson at the time.
LCSO Lt. Rand Maker said Nolet was with St. Cyr prior to the accident and provided him with a place to consume alcohol.
“We’re still investigating where that alcohol came from,” Maker added.
The LCSO is continuing to investigate this situation. Additional alcohol related charges are anticipated including alleged administrative liquor license violations.
Nolet was sent to Two Bridges Regional Jail, where bail was set at $300 cash, according to Jail authorities. He was released on the same day after his bail was paid.
Nolet is expected to appear before Lincoln County District Court in Wiscasset on Feb. 25. If convicted, he could serve up to one year in jail and may be subject to fines, the report states.
As reported in The Lincoln County News in September, physical and forensic evidence found at the scene indicate that St. Cyr was struck by an unknown vehicle and was left lying helpless in the road, and was subsequently hit by another vehicle, whose driver summoned authorities to the scene.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) is continuing to seek the first vehicle and driver that hit St. Cyr, and the LCSO asks if anyone has information to contact them at 882-7332. All information they receive will be kept confidential.
