According to fundraising chairman Walter Hilton, the Damariscotta Baptist Church steeple will be raised sometime mid-morning Aug. 24.
Maxine Wright, 94, of Portland, the donor who gave the last $35,000 to help raise the steeple this year, will be in attendance.
After it is raised, work will continue on the steeple throughout the day, Hilton said.
