A Hope man was sentenced to 35 years in prison Thursday morning in Knox County Superior Court for the July 2, 2008 murder of his girlfriend.
Justice Donald Marden sentenced Steven Pomeroy to serve the 35 years prison time straight, without parole, according to court officials.
In a fit of rage, Pomeroy murdered Jessica Nichols, 22, of Waldoboro during an argument in his Hope residence.
Court officials said Pomeroy’s sentence started immediately following the court appearance.
