According to the Lincoln County Emergency Management Agency, as of 7:30 a.m. the high wind and heavy rains that blew through the area during the overnight Sunday into Monday morning has left some approximately 2400 households without power.
The Lincoln County EMA office reports roads are closed all over the county. The hardest hit areas include Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor, Edgecomb, Southport, Dresden and South Bristol
This morning there are reports of several trees and limbs on the roadways, some areas are flooded as well. Residents are strongly advised to use caution.
Lincoln County EMA advises residents that no downed line is ever safe to touch or approach. When encountering a downed power line, residents are advised stop, turn around, and find another route.
When approaching running water, residents are advised to turn around and find another route. There is no guarantee that the roads have not washed out under the rush of water.
Lincoln County EMA advises residents to please use caution using portable generators, please operated to manufacturer instructions and in a well-ventilated area, preferably outside.
