A fast moving nor’easter chugged through Lincoln County Wednesday, leaving a mess of heavy, wet snow and widespread power outages but causing no major incidents.
Central Maine Power Company (CMP) promised that Lincoln County households should have power restored by before midnight on Wednesday, just in time to start cooking those Thanksgiving feasts.
“Crews have made good progress today, despite motor vehicle accidents and tree contacts that caused some new outages,” says CMP spokesperson Gail Rice. “We remain on track to finish the job by late this evening.”
At 5 p.m. there were 579 homes in Lincoln County with power outages; a major improvement over the 3,334 outages at mid-day, according to CMP. Scattered power outages remained in Boothbay Harbor, Newcastle, South Bristol and Waldoboro at the time of this posting.
