The storm system that will visit Lincoln County through Friday is generally forecast to bring snowfall in the early morning hours and then changeover to rainfall after sunrise, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
That effect will vary from the Dresden highlands to the Pemaquid peninsula as the storm hauls seasonably warm air in from the Atlantic Ocean, bringing more rainfall to the peninsulas, but increasing the precipitation that may changeover into snow or ice as it reaches the colder inland areas, according to forecasters.
This storm is “track dependent”, and any small changes in course could bring either more rain or snow, according to forecasters.
A Winter Weather Advisory issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) remains in effect until 4 p.m. Friday.
The Lincoln County News will continue to follow the progress of this event and post any additional information here as soon as it becomes available.
