At their meeting on June 14, the Waldoboro Board of Selectmen voted to extend the moratoria on methadone clinics and medical marijuana facilities for an additional six months.
The original six-month moratoria were instated at a special town meeting in January. The selectmen voted to continue those bans for six more months to give the town time to finalize ordinances governing those facilities.
The planning board will review their final drafts of the ordinances at their meeting on June 22 and likely vote to send them to the board of selectmen for further review, said Planning and Development Director Misty Gorski on June 16.
Once they have been reviewed by the selectmen and a public hearing has been held, the proposed ordinances will come before town voters for final approval, likely at this November’s referendum, town officials said.
