Bremen firefighters responded to an early morning structure fire on Turner Road Saturday morning.
Bremen Fire Chief Fern Poland said the private residence was a complete loss. Poland said the extent of the destruction would likely make it hard to determine a specific cause of the fire.
“The house was pretty much destroyed,” Poland said.
Firefighters secured the scene and alerted the State Fire Marshal’s Office. An investigator was dispatched to the scene Saturday, Poland said.
Poland said he didn’t believe the homeowner was home at the time of the fire. He referred all other questions to the Fire Marshals’ Office.
The call came in around 3 a.m. Poland. Firefighters were able to clear the scene around 10 a.m.
Bremen was supported by mutual aid units from Bristol, Damariscotta, and Newcastle, Poland said.
