Although the nation’s economic climate is uncertain, Gary Gravel and his wife Jane Oliver Gravel are expanding their Damariscotta print business to include selling and printing promotional items.
“We are now doing sports clothing, team uniforms, school and charity event items,” said Gary.
All their activity is being consolidated into Supplies Unlimited building at 47 School Street.
Recent sales include high visibility gear for the Bristol and Portland fire departments, he said.
To drive the new services, the Gravels have hired a salesman and will put another on the payroll in March. So far, it has been a good investment.
“You wouldn’t believe how much business he brought in,” she said.
As part of their consolidation, the Gravels have closed the old Oliver’s Print Shop on Main Street, near the river, and are moving their printing equipment into an addition on the Supplies Unlimited building.
In addition to printing, the Gravels still offer office supplies, which, they say, are on a price level with the larger office supply stores.
“We deliver too,” said Gary.
