The First, N.A. has agreed to match Great Salt Bay School’s “Kids Make Change” campaign to raise money for a new school playground.
“At The First, we are encouraged by the enthusiasm and dedication from the students and parents in our community to provide a safe, state of the art, and fun playground,” said Dan Daigneault, President and Chief Executive Officer of The First. “We are honored to support this community-built project which gets everyone involved, from the planning stages to the barn raising installation in June.”
The Community Playground Committee recently kicked off their “Kids Make Change” campaign that is encouraging every GSB student to bring in the equivalent of a dime a day for each day of the school year, totaling $17.50 per student. If all 420 students at GSB do this during the school year, it will raise $7350 towards the new playground. The First will double that effort by matching the fundraising goal with a gift of $7350.
“This matching gift from The First shows such strong support for our local kids from one of the major businesses in our community,” said Kristie Houghton, Community Playground Chair. “Sponsoring ‘Kids Make Change’ not only helps us build a playground, it makes kids feel like what they do matters. This is a commitment our kids will never forget.”
