State Police say three people have been arrested in connection with alleged burglaries that occurred last month at NC Hunt Lumber Company in Jefferson and Cousin’s Sawmill in Windsor.
The three arrests took place Tuesday, Sept.2 in Pittston.
Numerous boots, chainsaws and money with a total value of $4,000 were allegedly stolen from Cousin’s Sawmill Aug. 25, according to police reports. After checking with local and county agencies, state police teamed up with detectives from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office who were covering a similar burglary at NC Hunt’s.
The two agencies developed information that led to a suspect and state police subsequently arrested Jake Pillsbury, 23, who police describe as a transient from the Jefferson area. At the time of his arrest Pillsbury was allegedly driving a stolen minivan on Route 27 in Pittston.
Tuesday evening troopers and deputies conducted a search of a mobile home at 158 Wiscasset Rd. in Pittston where, according to police, heroin and other narcotics were located. Also at that residence, police arrested Coty Norton-Perry, 26, for possession of stolen property and Brandi Grady, 26, for endangering the welfare of a child.
Both Norton-Perry and Grady live in the mobile home, according to police.
Information gained from that search led troopers to Jefferson where a large amount of the stolen property was located, including laptops stolen from a school in Monson, Mass. Troopers are working with Massachusetts police on that case and more charges are likely, according to police.
