A Chevrolet pickup truck traveling south on Route 27 in Boothbay Harbor swerved to avoid hitting an animal and instead hit a utility pole and a house shortly after 5 p.m., Tuesday, July 28, Boothbay Harbor patrol officer Nick Upham said.
Dylan Geyer, 23, of Boothbay, was driving the 2005 Chevrolet 1500 that hit the front of 294 Townsend Ave. (Route 27) after fracturing the utility pole.
No one was injured in the accident and power was not lost due to the collision with the utility pole, Upham said. The house is unoccupied, Upham said. It is currently listed for sale through the Pottle Realty Group.
The house suffered no damage due to the accident, Boothbay Harbor Police Chief Robert Hasch said.
The Boothbay Harbor Fire Department and the Boothbay Harbor Police Department responded to the scene.
Fire department personnel directed traffic as the vehicle was towed from the scene at approximately 5:45 p.m.
