At a special referendum on April 29, Jesse Turner won re-election to the position of Somerville Road Commissioner.
Out of a total 106 votes cast, Turner received 47 votes – three more than second place candidate Bruce Dawson. Hunter Peaslee received 12 votes and Ralph Turner received one write-in vote. There were two void ballots.
Although Jesse Turner’s previous term expired at town meeting, the election was held nearly a month later because of an administrative mistake prior to town meeting. During the interim between town meeting and the election on April 29, the Somerville Board of Selectmen appointed Ralph Turner to serve as acting road commissioner.
