A two-car collision in Dresden Thursday night resulted in the death of a Buxton woman and seriously injured her passenger.
According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Mallory Morse, 21, was killed after she was involved in an accident at the intersections of RTs. 128 and 197 around 5:30 p.m. March 17.
According to the LCSO, a preliminary investigation indicates Morse was operating a southbound 1994 Ford Tempo on Rt. 128, approaching a stop sign at Rt. 197. According to the LCSO the Morse vehicle proceeded past a stop sign into the path of a westbound 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche, operated by Bruce Arsenault, 63, of Richmond, resulting in the collision.
Arsenault received minor injuries and was transported to Mid Coast Hospital, and later released, according to the LCSO
A passenger in Morse’s vehicle, identified as Keisha Neilson, 21, of Pittston, sustained head injuries and was transported to Maine Medical in Portland, according to the LCSO.
Deputies and Emergency Medical Service personnel confirmed Mallory’s death at the scene, according to the LCSO.
Although it appears speed or alcohol were not a factor, toxicology tests are being conducted LCSO reports. Both drivers and the passenger were all wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
The collision is being reconstructed by the LCSO, with the assistance of the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office, who conducted a forensic mapping of the scene.
Dresden Fire Dept., Gardiner Rescue, Wiscasset Ambulance Service and North East Ambulance assisted at the scene.
