A Richmond couple is currently in custody at the Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset on burglary charges as a result of a joint investigation by state and local law enforcement.
According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Bruce Tillson 33, and his wife Jessica Tillson, 23, are both charged with three counts of burglary. Both Tillson’s are held on $50,000 cash bail.
According to the LCSO, the burglaries in question occurred in Alna and Richmond. Over the past week Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputies, Richmond Police, Augusta Police, Winthrop Police, the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and Maine State Police, have worked together corroboratively investigating several burglaries in Alna and Richmond in which numerous firearms and other items were stolen.
Because police believe the Tillson’s brought their three year old child with them while allegedly committing these crimes, the Dept. of Health and Human Services Child Protection Services was contacted. The child has been temporarily placed with friends of the family pending further investigation by DHHS caseworkers, according to the LCSO.
As a result of searches in several towns, all of the stolen firearms and other stolen items have been recovered.
More charges may be forth coming for both Bruce and Jessica Tillson, along with other individuals involved in the illegal sale and possession of firearms.
Any persons with information concerning this investigation are asked to contact LCSO Detective Sergeant Kenneth Hatch at 882-7332.
