A car-pole accident on Rt. 130 (Bristol Road) and the resultant power outage Feb. 6 complicated Super Bowl plans for some residents of Bremen, Bristol, Damariscotta and South Bristol.
According to a Central Maine Power (CMP) spokesperson, the accident broke pole #124 near the intersection of Rt. 130 and Rt. 129 in Bristol around 5 p.m., leaving approximately 1408 customers without power.
According to a dispatcher at the Lincoln County Regional Communications Center, no one was injured in the crash.
According to CMP, power was expected to be completely restored to the affected area by 10:30 p.m.
Normally, CMP can isolate power outages to a small area, but “at this particular place, there is no way” to do so, leaving most customers in the outage area “out for the duration,” the CMP spokesperson said.
