Following up on a citizen’s complaint on April 10, deputies from the St. Francois County Sheriff’s Department in Missouri arrested fugitive Ronald Fuller, 62, of Boothbay Harbor.
Fuller is wanted on charges relating to burglaries in the Boothbay Harbor area that took place from 2011 to 2013, as well as federal charges.
After citizens observed what they described as an early 1970s Chevrolet being driven into a wooded area off of a state road, they relayed concerns about the driver being involved in methamphetamine production, according to a press release from the SFCSD.
Officers responding to the area located a campsite and the vehicle, a 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle convertible that was listed as having been stolen from Maine, according to the release. A large amount of cash and jewelry was also recovered at the site.
Fuller has been wanted since the Boothbay Harbor Police Department and U.S. Federal Probation Officers executed a search warrant on Fuller’s home on March 26.
There, law enforcement seized items connected with a number of burglaries and a consent search at a neighboring residence the following day lead to the recover of more items related to burglaries in at least two counties, according to a BBHPD press release.
Fuller may be involved with approximately two dozen burglary cases in the area, said Sgt. Patrick Higgins of the Boothbay Harbor Police Department.
“They will be bringing him back to face the charges of several burglaries,” said Higgins. “There are a lot of open cases he may enlighten us to.”
Fuller is being held at the St. Francois County Jail without bond, pending further action by federal authorities.
Correction: An earlier edition of this story listed Fuller as being arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service.
