The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Massachusetts fugitive after an intensive manhunt in Bristol May 20.
Ruben Hernandez, 36, of Webster, Mass., was wanted on warrants from Massachusetts for Probation Violations stemming from charges of Armed Robbery, Assault and Battery, and Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon.
The Maine Wardens Service and Bristol Fire Dept. assisted the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office in the search for Hernandez. Firefighters assisted with traffic control as sections of Rt. 130 and Fir Hollow Road in Bristol were closed for a brief period.
Hernandez was arrested at gunpoint in a vehicle at the intersection of Rt. 130 and the Lower Round Pond Road in Bristol around 2:30 p.m.
No shots were fired and there were no injuries during the arrest.
He was transported to the Two Bridges Regional Jail where he will be held pending a hearing on extradition to Massachusetts. Investigators have determined Hernandez was staying at a friend’s home in the area.
The case will be reviewed by the District Attorney’s Office to determine if any further charges are warranted.
