For the second time in as many days the National Weather Service issued an advisory for areas surrounding Lincoln County, but not specifically for Lincoln County. And for the second time the forecast degraded until a Winter Weather Advisory was finally issued as cold, sometimes icy, precipitation overspread the area on Saturday morning. The Winter Weather Advisory warns that a mix of precipitation will continue to affect Lincoln County through the early afternoon hours and may cause icy build up on roads and power lines.
Presently the forecast calls for most of the precipitation in Lincoln County to slowly change over to rain as the day goes on. However current temps are also ten degrees lower than originally forecast – yet another indication that weather may not always play well with the forecast.
There are no power outages reported in Lincoln County as of the 12:28 p.m. bulletin from Central Maine Power.
The Lincoln County News will continue to follow the progress of this event and post any additional information here as soon as it is obtained.
