After a blustery day that saw more than 1400 power outages in Lincoln County, only 79 Lincoln County homes were still suffering from outages at 8:30 p.m. Sunday night, according to Central Maine Power (CMP).
Wind velocities continued to rise through the day on Sunday, with over 1000 power outages reported in just 90 minutes between 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.
The hardest hit areas were Bristol, with 1921 homes without power; and South Bristol with 1090 homes without power at the height of the storm.
Area fire departments responded to numerous reports of fallen trees and downed power lines. There have been no reports of injuries or major accidents at the time of this posting.
While winds diminished as nightfall set in, a Wind Advisory issued by the National Weather Service was expected to remain in effect until 1 a.m. on Monday.
