A well-known Waldoboro attorney was arrested for alleged domestic violence assault on Nov. 15, according to Waldoboro Police Chief Bill Labombarde.
Philip Cohen, 44, was arrested at his home on Washington Road following a third-party complaint at around 11 p.m. that evening, Labombarde said.
Evidence of the alleged assault on an adult female victim was found and Cohen was subsequently arrested by Officer Larry Hesseltine and was taken to Two Bridges Regional Jail, Labombarde said.
Hesseltine was assisted in the arrest by Sgt. Jamie Wilson, Labombarde said.
Cohen was released after immediately posting $1000 bail, according to TBRJ personnel.
Labombarde said the incident remains under investigation.
