A new Family Dollar location in Waldoboro under construction since last year is slated to open on Thursday, July 30, according to Bryn Winburn, public and media relations manager for the company.
Located at 1345 Atlantic Highway (Route 1), the new store will be 8,200 square feet and is the average size for Family Dollar stores, Winburn said via email.
The store is anticipated to employ between eight to 10 team members hired from the local community, she said.
“Family Dollar offers many of the grocery staples customers need at our everyday value prices – from dairy products, meat, grains, and frozen fruits and vegetables,” Winburn said.
“Additionally, we offer a variety of name-brand and private-label household, health, and beauty products, pet-care products, and baby-care items.”
“We hope that the community of Waldoboro will be pleased at the value and convenience their local, neighborhood Family Dollar provides,” Winburn said.
The Waldoboro Planning Board approved the project in May 2014.
