The man arrested by Waldoboro Police on June 13 and charged with Aggravated Animal Cruelty in regard to the alleged abuse of a dog by shooting pellets or BB’s into the dog’s skin has been identified as Aaron Armstrong, 32, of Waldoboro.
According to Waldoboro Police Chief Bill Labombarde, Armstrong was arrested at his residence without incident.
The investigation began after Waldoboro Animal Control Officer Laurice Ducharme brought a stray dog to the Lincoln County Animal Shelter approximately two weeks ago.
During a medical examination, veterinarian Dr. Dean Domeyer learned the dog had approximately 100 pellets or BBs embedded in her skin.
Subsequent to his arrest, Armstrong was transported to Two Bridges Regional Jail. Under Maine criminal law, Aggravated Animal Cruelty is a Class C felony.
