An 18-year-old Waldoboro man is facing two counts of felonious assault on a child under the age of six, as a result of an investigation by the Waldoboro Police Department.
Waldoboro police arrested Tylor Miller, 18, at his home on Reed Lane Saturday June 22, without incident. Miller was brought to the Waldoboro Police Department and later transported to the Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset.
According to statement from Waldoboro Police, officers responded to Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta June 19 to investigate reported child abuse allegations. Police were alerted to the hospital by an anonymous call made to DHHS regarding injuries sustained on a 6-month-old baby.
After medical personnel at Miles Memorial Hospital conducted an examination on the child and police concluded their initial interviews at the hospital, the baby was transported to Maine Medical Center in Portland for a more thorough medical examination.
Miller is charged with two counts of felony assault (Class C) on a child under the age of six and violation of conditions of release. At the time of his arrest, Miller was already out on bail with conditions related to burglary, theft and criminal mischief charges that occurred in February 2013 in Wiscasset.
This incident is currently still being investigated by the Waldoboro Police Department and no further information is available at this time.
