A Lincoln County grand jury indicted a Waldoboro man on a number of charges March after, according to police, he allegedly grabbed a baseball bat and threatened to smash a woman’s face before smashing a number of items in a Back Cove Road home.
Todd L. Dodge, 42, of Waldoboro, was indicted on charges of criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, class C; criminal mischief, class D; violation of condition of release, class E; and theft by unauthorized taking, class E.
According to an affidavit by Waldoboro Police Officer Jeffrey Fuller, the alleged victim said she and Dodge were arguing the morning of Jan. 31, and Dodge told her to shut up.
“She told him she would not and she said he grabbed a baseball bat and got in her face and told her he would smash her face,” Fuller wrote.
Dodge allegedly went on to threaten to smash the windows out of the woman’s vehicle, and then smashed the coffee table, stair rail, washer and dryer, and a chair in the home, according to the affidavit.
The theft charge relates to boots owned by the woman, according to the indictment.
Dodge was arrested by Fuller on Feb. 2 and, according to jail personnel, Dodge remained in custody at Two Bridges Regional Jail as of March 19 in lieu of $750 bail.
Dodge is due to be arraigned on the charges in Lincoln County Superior Court on April 27 at 8:30 a.m.
Kimberly Richardson, Dodge’s attorney, had no comment on the case.
