Waldoboro Police arrested a local man on OUI charges after he allegedly rear-ended another driver, crashed into a house, drove into a ditch, and then went to Moody’s.
Police say around 7 p.m. on Nov. 20 Arthur Kee, 51, of Waldoboro, rear-ended another driver at the intersection of Rt. 1 and Rt. 220. Kee left the scene of the accident and drove south on Rt. 220.
Police say he crashed into a house at 5 Old Rt. 1, but left that scene as well. After Kee drove off the road into a ditch on Old Rt. 1, he abandoned his car and walked to Moody’s Diner, where police found him around 7:30 p.m.
Kee’s blood alcohol level was “almost twice the legal limit,” Waldoboro Police Chief Bill Labombarde said.
Kee was arrested and charged with OUI, leaving the scene of an accident, possession of prescription drugs and violating conditions of release.
As of around noon on Nov. 21, he was still being held at Two Bridges Regional Jail, officials there said.
Also this weekend, Waldoboro Police arrested a local man they say had four times the legal blood alcohol level.
On Nov. 18, Keith Collamore, 46, of Waldoboro, was arrested and charged with OUI after police pulled him over on Rt. 220 just before 7 p.m. Police pulled him over in response to a complaint they received about erratic operation, Labombarde said.
At the time of his arrest, Collamore’s blood alcohol level was “four times the legal limit,” Labombarde said.
