The owner of the Waldoboro restaurant Deb’s Diner is expanding her horizons and renting out the Bristol Diner, to be open the first week of December.
“I walked in, saw that it had character, and thought it looked like fun [to run it],” said Deb Thibault, the owner of Deb’s Diner.
Deb’s Diner, on Route 1 in Waldoboro, has kept locals coming back since 2001, according to its Facebook page.
Thibault completely repainted the inside of the Bristol Diner and replaced most of the floors.
To keep some of the original character, she is planning on hanging up old Bristol Mills photographs dating back to 1871.
The diner is smaller than the Waldoboro location, forcing Thibault to limit her menu.
“The Bristol Diner has 25 seats, Deb’s has 35,” Thibault said.
Thibault plans on doing comfort foods for the winter, and bringing homemade chowders and soups over.
The Bristol Diner will be open from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Saturday and closed Wednesday. Sunday’s hours are to be announced.
The Bristol Diner is located at 1267 Bristol Rd. in Bristol. Deb’s Diner is located at 1495 Atlantic Highway in Waldoboro.
