Waldoboro voters approved a $3,692,100 budget for the year 2010, re-elected Rebecca Maxwell and Theodore Wooster to the Board of Selectmen and approved all articles on the town warrant at the annual town referendum vote on June 9.
Voters also approved $2.9 million as the town’s share for the Maine School Administrative District 40 budget for fiscal year 2010.
Rebecca Maxwell was reinstated on the Waldoboro Board of Selectman with 420 votes and Theodore Wooster was also reinstated to his seat on the Board with 484 votes. First time candidate William Maxwell received 287 votes.
Ronald Dolloff (536 votes) and Dana Dow (592) were both elected to serve the three-year term on the MSAD 40 Board of Directors.
William Blodgett (562), Craig Cooley (466) and Michael Dean (450) were elected to the three available three-year seats on the Budget Committee. Ted Mohlie (535) was elected to serve the single one-year term on the Budget Committee.
Jefferey McNelley (546) was elected by Waldoboro voters to serve a three-year term on the Utility District. Winning write-in candidate for the one-year term on the Utility District is Carl Waterman (6). Runners up were Wallace Walton (3) and Chris Duffy (2).
Carl Cunningham won a write-in vote for a single available two-year seat on the MSAD 40 Board of Directors (7). Runner up for the Board was Shep Brown (5). Write-in candidates have not officially accepted the write-in seats at this time.
Residents approved amendments to the Land Use Ordinance, a copy of which is available at the town office.
The article asking voters to authorize selectmen to notify the Commissioner of the Dept. of Marine Resources that they wish to exercise their rights to alewives in the Medomak River for 2010 passed with 585 ‘yes’ votes against 80 ‘no’ votes.
