Voters at the polls in Waldoboro on Nov. 8 approved all four articles on the ballot.
The votes authorize the town to refinance a water department bond, create ordinances governing methadone clinics and medical marijuana dispensaries, and clean up the town’s site review process.
The refinancing will be evaluated in the spring, town officials said. If interest rates are favorable, the selectmen will have the authority to refinance, possibly saving the town more than $100,000 over the life of the bond.
The article passed 878 to 632.
The methadone clinic and medical marijuana ordinances govern those facilities, should anyone seek to open one in town. At this point, no one has applied to open either type of facility in Waldoboro.
The methadone clinic article passed 862 to 663; the medical marijuana dispensary and cultivation facility article passed 967 to 562.
The last article removes duplications in the town’s site plan review process, and was generally described as “housekeeping” by Planning Board Chairman Charles Campbell.
The article passed 844 to 600.
