Waldoboro voters elected several town officials at the polls on June 14. In several elections, the candidates from the Concerned Citizens of Waldoboro (C-COW) ousted incumbents. As of press time, town officials were still double-checking the vote count for these races, Town Clerk Linda Perry said.
To the Waldoboro Board of Selectmen, voters elected incumbent Craig Cooley (286 votes) and former selectman Clinton Collamore (336 votes) to three-year terms on the board.
“Glad to be back,” Clinton Collamore. “I was gone for a year or so.
“I’m pleased and I’d like to thank everyone who supported me,” Cooley said. “Now I’m just waiting to see how [the] budget fared.”
To the RSU/MSAD 40 School Board, voters elected incumbent Francis Cross (455 votes) and newcomer Deb Kent (423 votes) to three-year terms.
To the Budget Committee, voters elected incumbent Ted Mohlie (438 votes), former selectman and budget committee member Ellen Winchenbach (524 votes) and C-COW candidate Duncan Morrell (353 votes) to three-year terms. There were 522 blank votes in this race.
Voters elected C-COW candidate Craig Lewis (505 votes) to a one-year term.
To the Utility District, voters elected all three incumbents, who were running unopposed: David Starr to a one-year term (690 votes); and Frederick Bess (666 votes) and Samuel Chapman (nine write-in votes) to three-year terms. Although an incumbent, Chapman did not return papers for this election.
