A 22-year-old Waldoboro woman was arrested in Rockland June 9 after the vehicle she was allegedly operating struck a State Trooper’s patrol car around 1:30 a.m.
According to the Maine State Police, Trooper Tr. Don Webber was on patrol and traveling north on Broadway in Rockland at the time of the accident.
As Webber entered the intersection of Broadway and Talbot St. a Lincoln Town car failed to stop at the stop sign and the two vehicles collided. The operator of the Lincoln then sped away from the scene.
After a search of the area by Maine State Police, Rockland Police and the Knox County Sheriff’s Department, the Lincoln was located parked behind a church not far from the crash scene. The alleged operator of the vehicle, Natasha Jackson, was located a short time later.
Jackson was arrested and charged with OUI, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident by quickest means, operating without a license, providing a false name and date of birth and trafficking in dangerous knives along with traffic violations.
Jackson was held at Knox County Jail on $2500 cash bail.
