A Waldoboro woman is being held without bail after she was arrested for allegedly shoplifting in a store next door to one she allegedly robbed in February.
Karrie Prior, 23, was arrested the morning of June 20 for allegedly stealing from the Waldoboro Cigaret Shopper the day before, according to Waldoboro Police Officer Larry Hesseltine.
Police Chief Bill Labombarde said the department is not releasing information about the item or items alleged to have been stolen due to the ongoing investigation.
The smoke shop is next door to Hoffman Collectibles, where Prior is alleged to have stolen 180 “Johnny Bravo” dietary supplement pills and an undisclosed amount of money close to midnight on Feb. 15.
In the process, Prior was alleged to have thrown a candy machine through the front door of the business and, as an employee attempted to stop her, to have dragged the man with her vehicle onto Route 1 before crashing into a snowbank, police and the employee told The Lincoln County News.
On May 5, Prior was indicted by grand jury on two counts of robbery, one a class A felony and the other a class B felony; two counts of burglary, both class C felonies; criminal mischief, a class D misdemeanor; and theft by unauthorized taking, driving to endanger, and violation of condition of release, all class E misdemeanors.
For the alleged shoplifting June 19, Prior was charged with theft by unauthorized taking and violation of condition of release, according to Hesseltine.
Prior was being held without bail at Two Bridges Regional Jail as of the morning of June 23, according to jail personnel.
