The National Weather Service (NWS) has downgraded a Winter Storm Warning for Lincoln County and other Maine coastal areas to a Winter Weather Advisory. Winter Storm Warnings remain in effect for areas east of Lincoln County.
Radar images monitored at intellicast.com at 5:42 p.m. on Tuesday indicated that the rain/snow line was moving steadily north-northeast through Lincoln County, with all of the coastal peninsulas receiving rainfall only. That trend is forecast to continue, with all areas of Lincoln County seeing a switchover to from snow to sleet to rain during the night-time hours, according to the NWS.
The Winter Weather Advisory is presently scheduled to end at 5 a.m. on Wednesday, according to the NWS.
While there were a number of minor traffic accidents, no major incidents have been reported as a result of the storm at the time of this posting. There were a number of business cancellations, and many local schools were either closed or dismissed early. No power outages were reported in Lincoln County at the time of this posting, according to Central Maine Power (CMP).
The Lincoln County News website will continue to follow the progress of this event and post any additional information here as soon as it becomes available.
