It’s been downright balmy most of the weekend, with seasonably warm temps and rain showers combining to make for substantial melting – but that trend may be ending Monday according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
A Winter Weather Advisory issued Sunday afternoon by the NWS calls for rainfall to changeover to snow and sleet as cold temps slide back into Lincoln County during the daylight hours on Monday.
The Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday. The NWS is calling for accumulations of up to one inch of snow and two-tenths of an inch of ice.
However, some local forecasts are calling for rain only in the Lincoln County area.
So, as with much of Lincoln County’s weather, we’ll know for sure what the weather is once it’s actually happening.
There is also a Flood Watch in effect, issued by the NWS, and warning that snow melt causing rivers to rise and ice blocking drainage areas may create flood conditions in some areas.
The Lincoln County News will continue to follow the progress of this event and post any additional information here as soon as it becomes available.
