The National Weather Service (NWS) ended a Winter Weather Advisory Monday at noon, but a messy mix of precipitation continued on its own schedule in Lincoln County.
This same system fooled the weather pundits, originally forecast to arrive in the early morning hours and leave by late morning.
The good news is that while the weather front is keeping its own schedule, that schedule calls for only a short visit, reducing the possibility of any heavy icing and the potential for power outages resulting from it, according to forecasters.
Snow, sleet and then rainfall should chug through Lincoln County and then move out by the evening hours, according to current forecasts and confirmed by radar images observed on intellicast.com.
The Lincoln County News will continue to follow the progress of this event and post any additional information here as soon as it becomes available.
