The National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement regarding strong thunderstorms impacting Lincoln and Knox counties through 4:45 p.m.
The service’s radar has indicated a strong thunderstorm center over Edgecomb moving east at about 30 miles per hour, according to the statement at http://www.weather.gov.
Hail up to one-half inch in diameter, heavy downpours, lightning and gusty winds from 35 to 45 miles per hour can be expected, according to the statement.
The statement advises anyone outdoors to move indoors or inside a vehicle if the storm is approaching one’s location.
