As part of a regular Whitefield Board of Selectmen’s meeting, town officials will meet with RSU 12 Supt. Greg Potter and the district’s finance committee to discuss school finances on Oct. 18 at 6:30 p.m. at the Whitefield Fire Station on Townhouse Road.
The meeting, which is open to the public, will be a chance to discuss the future of the school district’s finances and how they impact the town.
With education expenses making up some two-thirds of the municipal budget, understanding the RSU budget is important, said Whitefield Selectman Dennis Merrill. “Our taxes went up this year, and education was a big part of it.”
The RSU has requested that any member of the public with questions submit them in advance, so any necessary information can be found and brought to the meeting.
Residents with questions they would like to submit may bring them to the Whitefield Town Office on Townhouse Road, or call the town office at 549-5175.
