A fire that broke out on the deck of 450 Townhouse Road Wednesday evening, May 6, was quickly extinguished.
According to Whitefield Fire and Rescue Deputy Chief Tom Feeney, an outdoor grill caught the deck on fire.
Lincoln County Communications paged Whitefield Fire and Rescue to the scene at 6:43 p.m. Whitefield mutual aid partners Alna, Jefferson, Somerville, and Windsor were also paged due to the initial report of a potential structure fire.
Lincoln County sheriff’s deputy Ken Hatch was the first on the scene. According to Lincoln County Sheriff’s Lt. Rand Maker, Hatch reported the homeowner contained the fire through use of a fire extinguisher.
The Waller family lives at the address.
The fire was confirmed to be completely extinguished within minutes of Whitefield Fire and Rescue’s arrival, Feeney said.
The mutual aid call was canceled when Whitefield fire department personnel arrived on scene.
Feeney estimated the damage to the deck at a couple hundred dollars.
