A Whitefield man has been indicted on a dozen felony charges for allegedly compelling a teenage girl to engage in sexual acts on six different occasions in the fall of 2012.
Christopher Sidelinger, 28, of Whitefield, was indicted by a Lincoln County Grand Jury on six counts of gross sexual assault, all Class A felonies, and six counts of sexual abuse of a minor, all Class C felonies.
On or about six different dates in the end of October and beginning of November 2012, Sidelinger allegedly compelled a then-15-year-old girl to engage in sexual acts in Whitefield and Jefferson, according to the indictment.
If convicted, Sidelinger could face up to 30 years incarceration and a $50,000 for each Class A crime and up to five years incarceration and a $5,000 fine for each Class C crime, according to the Office of the Maine Attorney General’s website.
Sidelinger was both arrested and bailed out on $25,000 secured bail on Sept. 6, 2013,, according to court documents.
His bail conditions include no possession or use of alcohol or illegal drugs, random searches and testing for those, no possession of dangerous weapons, and have no contact with any female under age 16 unless it is supervised contact with a family member.
Sidelinger is due in Lincoln County Superior Court on Thursday, May 29 at 8:30 for arraignment on the charges.
