A 28-year-old Whitefield woman faces felony charges of sexual abuse of a minor for allegedly abusing a 14-year-old boy on three occasions in December 2013.
Keturah D. Tillson was 27 at the time. According to Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Detective Scott Hayden, the alleged victim showed Hayden Facebook messages from Tillson in which she allegedly told the boy she would engage in a sexual act with him.
“Tillson denied any sexual contact, she did admit to sending the Facebook messages,” Hayden said in a report. The detective arrested Tillson the evening of Thursday, June 12.
Tillson also faces a misdemeanor charge of violation of condition of release.
Tillson’s court-appointed attorney, Luann L. Calcagni, did not respond to a request for comment.
The class C abuse charges carry a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $5,000 fine. The class E violation of condition of release charge carries a maximum penalty of six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.
Tillson was out on bail at the time of the arrest after pleading guilty to misdemeanor domestic violence assault. She assaulted her husband in Somerville on Feb. 15, 2013, according to court documents.
She pleaded guilty April 4, 2013. The court ordered her to complete mental health treatment and delayed sentencing for a year.
She returned to court on April 10 of this year and the court extended the agreement six months. She was still out on bail at the time of the June 12 arrest.
She was due to appear for a hearing to determine the outcome of the case in October. The court would dismiss the domestic violence assault charge if she successfully completes treatment and stays out of trouble.
If she commits any crime while out on bail, the court could sentence her to as much as the maximum penalty for a class D crime, 364 days in jail and a $2,000 fine.
Tillson is being held without bail on the domestic violence assault charge at Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset.
Bail is set at $1,000 cash on the new charges. Her bail conditions on the new charges prohibit contact with children, with the exception of her own five children.
She is due to appear on all charges, including a state motion to revoke bail in the domestic violence assault case, at 8:30 a.m., Thursday, July 31.
