Crews from the Central Maine Power Company are continuing to restore power to Lincoln County Households even as high winds continue to cause more outages.
A total of 248 homes are without power at the time of this posting. That number has see-sawed since the wind picked up early Sunday morning, with over 300 Lincoln County households without power mid-day Sunday. By 2 p.m. on Sunday power had been restored to several hundred, with only 110 households waiting for assistance, according to CMP. However, high winds continued, and so have the outages.
CMP crews have been braving high winds and the danger of falling branches to return power to Lincoln County residents during the storm. A Wind Advisory issued by the National Weather Service that was originally to have expired Sunday night now extends until 8 p.m. Monday night. The Advisory warns of sustained northwesterly winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 50 mph.
Bremen, Bristol and Newcastle have been the areas hardest hit by power outages during this event, according to the CMP.
Statewide, Lincoln County ranks third in the number of outages – well behind first place Somerset with 982 outages reported mid-day on Monday, according to CMP. There are 1675 power outages statewide, according to CMP.
The Lincoln County News will continue to follow the progress of this event and post and additional information here as soon as it is obtained.
